Crypto.com with UFC to accelerate the transition to crypto
UFC president Dana White said:
“This is a partnership between two companies that are the best at what they do. No company has done more to grow the popularity of combat sports than UFC, and now we’re one of the biggest sports brands on the planet. We can help Crypto.com reach more people around the world through the strength of our brand”.
Kris Marszalek, co-founder and CEO of Crypto.com added:
“It’s a historic moment as the fastest growing cryptocurrency platform joins forces with the fastest growing sport to help accelerate the world’s transition to cryptocurrency. This is just the beginning of a long relationship with UFC, and we’re looking forward to what we will build together”.
Crypto.com in Sports
This brings Crypto.com to be yet another cryptocurrency brand to enter the world of sports. It is precisely sports that seems to have become one of the gateways for crypto companies to make themselves known to the masses.
For Crypto.com, this is not the first partnership in the sports world. The company had already sponsored the Italian Cup football final. The brand appeared at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia where the final between Atalanta and Juventus was played on 19 May. In addition, a special NFT collection was developed for the occasion and is available on Crypto.com, including the official trophy, match highlights and more.
The partnership with the Italian Serie A League is the first between a football league and a crypto company, and it is intended to go well beyond the Coppa Italia final.
As for the UFC, it had previously established partnerships with Litecoin, but now seems to have broadened its horizons beyond a single cryptocurrency.
According to Joe Pompliano, the partnership between Crypto.com and the UFC will last 10 years for a total of $175 million ($17.5 million per year).
