  • The polish influencer sold the digital love for $250,000 and is set to have a dinner date with the mysterious buyer.

As the non-fungible token (NFT) craze continues globally, a Polish influencer Marta Rentel recently sold her love in the form of NFT online for $AU339,087, which equals about $250,000. Rentel sold her love as an NFT with the ongoing fuzz around NFTs, which has attracted several notable individuals. Following the sale, Rentel has become the first person to sell her love as an NFT on the internet.

Mysterious buyer of NFT love unknown

It was revealed that the buyer of the “digital love” is currently unknown. However, the 26-year-old influencer will go on a dinner date with the mysterious buyer upon the completion of the NFT transaction.

In a statement to Business Insider, Rentel clarified that her online persona is different from her actual person. Hence, she wants people to know the difference between the online person “Marti Renti” and the actual person “Marta Rentel. Speaking with Insider, she added:

Nothing on the internet is physical, it’s a part of my online persona.

Similarly, Rentel stated on her website that her name is Marti Renti. She, however, pointed out that the name is for her digital version and not her “real” name. She said her digital name is from the “parallel world,” where her stage is on the internet.

The Polish influencer said she has always wanted to be the first woman to do something innovative. Rentel said she has long desired to take a step that would be recorded in history books. She wrote on her website:

If I am to become digitally complete, I need to find someone who’d want to share this DNA with me. It can be anyone who’s crazy enough to travel with me to this infinite galaxy of digital emotions.

She further said that selling digital love is empowering for women. Rentel hopes that other influences will be inspired by her actions and be creative with what they offer their fan base henceforth.

Italian artist Salvatore Garau inspires Rentel to sell the digital love

According to Rentel, her idea to sell her love as an NFT was inspired by Salvatore Garau, an Italian artist. Garau sold an “invincible sculpture” for $18,300. Artnet.com stated that the sculpture sold in May is titled “Io sono,” meaning “I am.”

In response to whether she believes real love could germinate from the digital transaction, the Polish influencer pointed to the fact that the buyer is unknown. Rentel said that the buyer could be a “woman or child who is very rich.”

The NFT trend does not seem to be dying down anytime soon. Celebrities, including athletes, artists, football clubs, and more, are now exploring the NFT space. On the 25th of July, Shopify president Harley Finkelstein said that the company would allow its merchants to sell NFTs to customers on the e-commerce platform.
