PAWS Chicago has launched “Dogenations,” a cryptocurrency donation campaign to help animals, starring the ultimate crypto dog: Dogecoin (DOGE).
The “Dogenations” campaign
According to reports, the largest animal shelter ‘No Kill’ has partnered with creative agency Leo Burnett to activate the campaign dubbed “Dogenations.”
In fact, it was actually Leo Burnett’s idea to use the Dogecoin crypto meme, which features a Japanese Shiba Inu as its testimonial, to lure cryptocurrency users into its purpose.
PAWS Chicago’s mission is precisely to unveil its new state-of-the-art hospital for homeless animals, PAWS Chicago Medical Center, soon.
The new premier medical center will allow PAWS Chicago to support the care of more than 28,000 animals each year, providing care for dogs and cats locally and from 13 high-mortality states where pets are most at risk of euthanasia. Every donation supports this life-saving work and furthers the organization’s mission.
On that note, Susanna Homan, CEO of PAWS Chicago, said:
“We are a forward-thinking, solutions-based organization, which is why we are eager to connect with the growing cryptocurrency community that can help support the future of animal welfare in Chicago and save animals’ lives.”
Dogecoin to save animals with cryptocurrency donations
That is the first time PAWS Chicago is accepting cryptocurrency donations. In addition to DOGE, accepted cryptocurrencies are expected to include Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and other tokens.
Agency Leo Burnett is already famous in the field due to its ability to capitalize on meme culture, such as that of the “laser eyes” meme, with an ad that targeted a tech-savvy demographic of potential donors.
The current idea involves a digital billboard ad campaign with a dog shooting lasers from its eyes and the QR code visible on the ads
And that’s why the choice of Dogecoin for this campaign. In this regard, Ben Doessel, Associate Creative Director at Leo Burnett, said:
“The rise of Dogecoin is further proof that people love dogs. Our team paired this trending meme with PAWS Chicago, which has been a driving force in animal welfare for decades, to give dog lovers a new way to make a real impact.”
Everyone Wants Dogecoin (DOGE)
Beyond the present animal-saving campaign in Chicago, Dogecoin continues to gain acclaim with active fans participating in spreading the word so that DOGE remains among the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
And in fact, recently, a petition from supporters of the crypto meme that wants to collect 2500 signatures to ask Walmart to adopt DOGE as a means of payment in its stores has come back live.
At the time of writing this article, the signatures have reached 2,250, almost a step away from the goal set, and who knows that the U.S. retail giant does not accept the proposal of the close-knit fans.
Another interesting event at home Dogecoin is organizing the same Dogecoin Foundation that, after being eclipsed since 2014, is back with representatives of the caliber of Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, and Vitalik Buterin, Co-Founder of Ethereum.
After three years of downtime of the Twitter channel and website, it now seems to have reactivated.
Not only that, just like for the queen of cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin, you can now also check Dogecoin’s Fear and Greed indicator, which as of today is at the 63 euphoria score.
