Knowing all the stories of Bitcoin millionaires is an arduous task. However, some of them just couldn’t help themselves and voluntarily shared on social media or with the press their incredible 6-figure BTC adventure.
Erik Finman, the youngest Bitcoin millionaire
First among them is Erik Finman, perhaps the youngest Bitcoin millionaire, at just 18 years old. His incredible story starts at the tender age of 12, in 2011, with an initial investment of $1000 on BTC.
In a Business of Business magazine interview, young Finman stated that he met the cryptocurrency queen during a protest held in Washington, DC., when he met a guy wearing a bitcoin t-shirt. Finman asked the guy what that symbol represented, and he told him, “it’s going to end Wall Street, bro.”
The 12-year-old, driven by an intense curiosity, individually began to do his research, starting to see the future of the peer-to-peer currency, and thanks to the $1,000 he received as a gift from his grandmother, Finman began his journey into the world of BTC.
Last year alone, Finman’s wealth had grown to 431 BTC, worth over $4.8 million at the time. Currently, the Bitcoin millionaire has decided to expand his knowledge into other areas, and in some cases, he even helps little ones invest.
In fact, two years ago, in order to help a 10-year-old boy, the Bitcoin millionaire wanted to build a Dr. Octopus suit so that the child Aristou Meehan could participate in the London Comicon as a cosplayer.
The story of Mr. Smith
In addition to the young millionaire, there are also those stories that let inspire even the older ones, the ones you hear while chatting at cryptocurrency conferences.
Like the one of Mr. Smith told by Forbes. Mr. Smith decided to invest in Bitcoin in October 2010 with an initial investment of $3,000, eventually getting 20,000 BTC.
Only three years later, the software engineer started selling. First, he sold 2000 BTC for $350 each and then another 2000 BTC for $800 each. With these two sales alone, Mr. Smith found himself earning a whopping $2.3 million, fitting into those incredible stories of Bitcoin millionaires.
Bitcoin millionaires as inspiration
Other incredible stories of Bitcoin millionaires have also been heard in the Bel Paese. Among the many, the Italian Riccardo Sussi from Brescia told Corriere a few years ago about his investment of thousands of BTC when the cryptocurrency was only worth a few dollars.
It wasn’t until the BTC then reached the $10,000 price point during 2017 that the entrepreneur found himself part of the 6-figure bitcoin personalities.
Of course, all of these stories date back to a time when the price of BTC was increasing exponentially. Many, in fact, became millionaires by betting and believing in the queen of cryptocurrencies early on, or while BTC was worth $1, $10, or even $100.
It is a behavior that has inspired many others who have chosen to replicate it with other cryptocurrencies.
The incredible stories
By choosing other cryptocurrencies or tokens, some users in the cryptocurrency space have found themselves living incredible stories by becoming millionaires.
Last April 2021, for example, two brothers from Westchester, New York, saw their account rise above six zeros overnight. This time, the asset of choice wasn’t Bitcoin.
In fact, thanks to a bet on Shiba Inu (SHIB), a spinoff of Dogecoin, the two boys won their own personal lottery.
Just following the inspiration of the stories of Bitcoin millionaires, James and Tommy decided to invest $200 each initially. Not only that, but the two also introduced the idea to their mom, dad, sister, and a few other family members, who over time, all then invested a portion, totaling $8,000.
Well, the takeoff of the cryptocurrency market in 2021, which also involved SHIB, brought the $8,000 investment to reach $1,000,000.
