American professional basketball team Philadelphia 76ers has announced a partnership with the leading cryptocurrency exchange CryptoCom. The initiative will see the popular NBA club launch its non-fungible token (NFT) on the digital asset trading platform.
Philadelphia 76ers Partners CryptoCom
Announcing the partnership in a press release today, 76ers noted that fans interested in obtaining the digital collectibles can log on to the CryptoCom NFT platform to get access.
The team is also planning to launch another set of NFTs in November when it will unveil its new City Edition uniform, a move that commemorates a memorable time in its history, the release added.
Chris Heck, 76ers President of Business Operations, said:
“We are thrilled to launch a long-term partnership with such a progressive team at CryptoCom, a company that shares our drive for greatness.”
Heck added that both parties will be committed to changing how cryptocurrencies are integrated into the sports sector going forward.
76ers’ Official Jersey Partner
In addition to the aforementioned development, CryptoCom is now the 76ers’ official jersey partner for the 2021/2022 NBA season, as part of efforts to enhance global awareness for the platform.
Thus, the popular cryptocurrency exchange will have its logo displayed on the left shoulder of the Philadelphia-based basketball team jersey.
The CryptoCom patch will be present on all 76ers’ four jerseys, as well as its upcoming new City Edition uniform, which is scheduled to launch in November.
Per the announcement, the jersey bearing the CryptoCom logo will make its debut on October 21 when the team based in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area faces the New Orleans Pelicans.
Promoting Crypto Awareness
Furthermore, the 76ers also stated that all authentic jerseys that will be sold on NBA retail shops and SixersShop.com, will feature the new CryptoCom patch.
The statement added that the patch will also appear on courtside LED screens on matchdays, 76ers’ Fan Hub, among others.
The idea is to create more public awareness for CryptoCom across the team’s platforms, including regional and global television stations, social media platforms, etc.
Commenting on the development, co-founder and CEO of CryptoCom Kris Marszalek stated that his company is excited to become the first cryptocurrency exchange to enter into an official jersey partnership with an NBA team.
“Together we’re going to create integrated experiences for fans everywhere; our patch and court integrations are just the beginning,” he added.
In addition, the 76ers said it would use the opportunity to educate its fans across the globe about digital currencies and their benefits, by launching a CryptoCom school.
Meanwhile, in a similar development, CryptoCom recently became the first official cryptocurrency partner of the French professional soccer club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in a multi-year deal.
