Tom Brady, the legendary football player and seven-time Super Bowl Champion, has again demonstrated his support for the crypto industry as he revealed in a recent interview that would love if digital assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana could be part of the salary.
Tom Brady wants crypto salary in NFL
In the interview with Jim Gray on “the Let’s Go Sirius XM” podcast, the legendary football player and strong crypto proponent disclosed that getting part of his NFL salary in cryptocurrencies instead of fiat currencies would be a dream come true especially as the world is going increasingly “digital.”
Brady went on to reveal that the crypto assets he prefers are the crypto king, the second-largest crypto-asset by market cap, and Solana, the best performing blockchain project in the year.
I’d love to get paid in some Bitcoin or Ethereum or Solana tokens. I think it’s an amazing thing that’s happening in the world with the way the world is becoming more digital.
He lauded the effectiveness of crypto in terms of speed and transparency and the technology propelling it. In his view, several athletes would soon follow suit his decision.
The digital age is upon us. I don’t think we’re ever going back. We’re using the technology and information to track things much better. And I definitely see a world where players are going to be paid in cryptocurrencies in the future.
Already, Saquon Barkley, a professional football player has already indicated his interest in receiving his future endorsements in BTC. According to him, digital coins are the best alternatives to hedging against inflation.
Brady’s crypto works
Notably, this is not Brady’s first step into crypto. In April, he joined the NFT craze by launching Autograph, an NFT platform, which proposed to feature notable names from various industries, including sports, fashion, pop culture, and entertainment, to develop personal unique digital artworks. So far, superstars like Tiger Woods, Tony Hawk, and Naomi Osaka have joined the platform.
Also, the quarterback and his wife are ambassadors for the digital asset trading platform, FTX.
