The Non Fungible Token (NFT) market is booming, with movie stars such as Reese Witherspoon joining the market as new buyers, as evidenced via the social network of crypto-lovers, Twitter.
Reese Witherspoon buys her first NFT
With a bit of excitement, stemming also from the first purchase one never forgets, actress, film and TV producer and entrepreneur, Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon shared a news related to NFTs.
Here’s the tweet:
Just bought my first NFTs ! I’m learning so much. Would love to know about amazing women creating #NFTs. Talk to me #cryptotwitter

“Just bought my first NFTs! I’m learning so much. Would love to know about amazing women creating NFTs. Talk to me Crypto Twitter”.
Witherspoon’s invitation is precisely to find other “incredible women” to learn from about how the NFT world works, perhaps even collaborating to create some.
In this sense, Witherspoon would be that perfect mix that represents NFTs composed of art, business but also technology.
NFTs – mania and the success stories of celebrities
Witherspoon is not the first star to enter the world of non-fungible tokens. Already other artists of the calibre of Dolce&Gabbana presented their first series of NFTs this summer, called “Genesi”.
This action by the famous Italian fashion brand, would lead it to see a record sale for the total of 9 Genesis NFTs, reaching an impressive $5.65 million. These NFTs are now ready to be used in the metaverse, to show off Dolce&Gabbana’s clothes.
Overall, according to data from Nonfungible.com, total sales of fashion, art, gaming, sports or collectible NFTs exceeded $10 billion in this first quarter of 2021 alone. Of this total, $2 billion was collected in the last month alone.
NFTs and technological innovations
The excitement for NFTmania also comes from the technological field where Wormhole’s interoperability protocol that facilitates the passing of any type of data between different networks has announced its newest addition.
Wormhole has now added Binance Smart Chain (BSC) support to its already existing Solana (SOL) and Ethereum (ETH) bridge. Overall, Wormhole has achieved more than $200M in total locked value (TVL) from its Solana and Ethereum token and NFT bridges.
Specifically, here’s how Wormhole described the benefits of its new integration.
“With BSC processing ten times the amount of transactions as Ethereum last month, the expansion of the Wormhole network will now connect the three major DeFi and NFT blockchain ecosystems. Users and projects will benefit from access to BSC’s large user and application base across its ecosystems, including its 470,000 blockchain players”.
