Much like everyone, the largest creative network Behance is also getting into the non-fungible token (NFTs) bandwagon.
Adobe’s social media platform announced this week that it is joining the NFT scene by allowing the creators to showcase their work on its platform to the masses.
Behance is working with multiple blockchains including Tezos (XTZ) to make this happen. The open-source scalable network has already been venturing deeper into the NFT through partnerships with Red Bull, Art Basel, and many more.
The most recent one is McLaren Racing which launched its NFT collection called “McLaren Racing Collective” on top of the Tezos blockchain to engage Formula 1’s 87 million fans.
Support for multiple blockchains
Behance has been seeing more than 160 million visitors over this past year to view the artwork showcase on the platform. These visitors actually viewed the work on Behance over 2.25 billion times.
It’s a highly active community, so it makes sense that the company is adding several new features, especially NFTs which have taken the world by storm this year.
To showcase the NFTs, Behance is introducing a new tab in the user profile. To start with, the users have to simply connect their crypto wallet and their NFTs will be added to the Behance profile. Users will also get the ability to display NFTs inside a Behance project.
“We are hard at work to include blockchains like Polygon, Solana, Flow, and Tezos,” said the team.
Protecting the digital content
To protect the artists from bad actors trying to take advantage of them by copying their work, Behance also announced the Content Authenticity Initiative. This open-source standard allows artists and users to link their social media profiles and crypto wallet addresses to their work which assures them that they are indeed the creator of their content.
Through this new feature, Adobe is making it easy to protect and verify metadata for digital content created across its key Creative Cloud solutions including Photoshop, Stock, and Behance including NFTs specifically.
For this, it is collaborating with several NFT marketplaces including SuperRare, Rarible, KnownOrigin, and OpenSea.
“We are incredibly focused on making sure you get credit for your work,” it said.
Additionally, it is opening creator subscriptions to all paid Creative Cloud members of Behance so that creators can start monetizing their work and introducing ways for creatives to get hired directly from their profile page.
