You are currently viewing China and blockchain, EOS dominates CCID ranking

The updated ranking of CCID (China Electronics Information Industry Development Research Institute), i.e., the index of the best blockchains according to China’s research and development department, once again confirms EOS’s blockchain as the absolute best.

The CCID ranking

Recall that the research takes into account several parameters, such as:

  • Basic Technology: examines the functionality, performance, security, and degree of decentralization of the blockchain. It has a weight of 64%;
  • Applicability: focuses on the development of nodes, wallets, developer support, and application deployment. It has a weight of 20%;
  • Creativity: focuses the aspect on continuous innovation, code impact, and code updates. It has a weight of 16%.

EOS, the best blockchain according to China

EOS is at the top with over 146 points, followed by Ethereum blockchain with 144 points, and in third place, we notice IOST blockchain with 132 points.

In the top five positions, blockchains, excluding Ethereum for the moment, exploit the PoS (Proof of Stake) type consensus protocol or otherwise derived from the same. EOS, for example, uses the DPoS (Delegated Proof of Stake) system.

Bitcoin (BTC) is out of the top 10 and is in 11th place with just 109 total points due to its protocol and limitations that do not allow it to compete with more advanced blockchains such as Ethereum or EOS.

At the bottom of the ranking, in last place, we find BCN, the blockchain of Bytecoin. Its crypto doesn’t shine when it comes to listing either, as it has lost 98% since its May 8, 2018 record of over $0.03. It is currently listed at $0.0003.

IOTA (MIOTA) is in the penultimate position: the integration of smart contracts does not seem to have had the desired effect even though the price has been trending positively in recent months.

In third-to-last position is instead HyperShare (HSR), a blockchain aimed at privacy due to the use of zk-SNARK technology. The project was launched in 2017, but it does not shine for popularity; in fact, its coin seems to be present neither on CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko nor on exchanges.

In the panorama of the most interesting blockchains, we can see PoS takes the lead. Interestingly, there are no blockchains like Polygon (MATIC), Solana (SOL), or even the Binance Smart Chain (BSC), which according to the Chinese and the department, do not seem to be interesting or worth monitoring.

The novelties of EOS, Ethereum, and IOST

Finally, let’s conclude with some developments for the front-runners.

Recall that on the EOS blockchain, the Bullish hybrid exchange will be about to launch, which has as much as $10 billion in liquidity. It will record all transactions on the EOS blockchain.

In addition, the platform for NFTs, Voice, will be coming out of beta, allowing not only for the creation of NFTs but also integrating the ability to migrate NFTs from EOS to Ethereum and vice versa.

Ethereum performed the Beacon Chain update, which puts another building block towards ETH 2.0. The cryptocurrency is fresh off a new all-time high in price.

Finally, on IOST, we recall the recent investment in the LABEL project, which will lead to creating an NFT ecosystem and developing an education platform through mass entertainment, Massive Open Online Course (MOOC).
