The strong Shiba Inu (SHIB) community has launched a new petition to list the ‘Dogecoin Killer’ on the trading app Robinhood.
Petition close to 500,000 signatures
The petition involving the unstoppable Shiba Inu (SHIB) is nearing completion, with more than 400,000 signatures out of the total 500,000 required.
As described, the object of the petition is to ask the most popular trading app in the US to list SHIB after the great success achieved with the crypto-meme par excellence Dogecoin (DOGE). Here’s how it specifically quotes the text:
“This petition is designed to kindly request of Robinhood to please list Shiba Inu coin to trade. Dogecoin has been a huge success for Robinhood, and its investors. We have all enjoyed the ride. Shiba Inu is a similar meme coin with genuine potential, up 2000% in the last weeks! Gaining new ground by the day. Shiba has just been listed on Binance, and its momentum grows by the hour. Half the questions when we log into trading forums ask “How can I buy Shiba!??”Let’s encourage Robinhood to be the first traditional brokerage to get on this train! Thank you”.
Shiba Inu petition: comparison to DOGE for Robinhood
SHIB, which is right behind its archrival in the cryptocurrency rankings by market capitalization, was compared to DOGE in the petition as a possible new success for Robinhood and its traders.
And in fact, last August 2021, in the traditional and cryptocurrency trading app’s Q2 report, DOGE’s entry had accounted for 62% of revenue from the platform’s cryptocurrency transactions.
Currently, Robinhood beyond DOGE only offers seven cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
With SHIB’s rapid climb just recently approaching $43 billion in market cap against DOGE’s roughly $35 billion, only to tip over and get back behind the crypto-meme par excellence, its community is asking Robinhood to include it for trading.
Of course, in terms of comparison, not exactly everyone feels the same way about SHIB fans. In fact, a few days ago, Tesla CEO Elon Musk had to confirm that he doesn’t own any SHIB but rather that in the cryptocurrency wallet of the richest man in the world, there would be only BTC, ETH, and DOGE.
SHIB and the crypto-meme mania
In the meantime that the petition ends and Robinhood decides what to do, SHIB also catches the attention of other cryptocurrency exchanges.
Among the many, there is Bitrue that in one of its analysis points out SHIB’s increase of 1,000% while its price has tripled in the last week alone and what has become a real crypto-meme mania.
In fact, according to the cryptocurrency exchange, other dog-based coins like Samoyedcoin SAMO, Australian Safe Shepherd ASS, and Shih Tzu SHI are seeing similar results. Not only that, but catcoin CATO is also up 200% in the last 24 hours.
On that note, Bitrue announced the launch of SHIB in its futures trading service starting October 30. A SHIB/USDT pair will be available with custom leverage of up to 50x. Bitrue currently supports more than 30 cryptocurrencies in its Futures service.
