Revolut Bank arrives in Italy
Revolut, the global financial super app with over 16 million customers worldwide, today launched its specialized European banking license in Italy. Deposits of Italian customers switching to Revolut Bank will be protected by the Deposit Guarantee Scheme.
Customers can switch to Revolut Bank immediately to get additional services from within the app. The upgrade process will only take a few minutes.
To date, Revolut has gained more than 650,000 customers in Italy and the company is confident that deposit protection, coupled with Revolut’s wide range of products and services, will provide customers in Italy with more control, value and security than traditional banks.
Joe Heneghan, Chief Executive Officer of Revolut Bank, says:
“Revolut is the fastest growing fintech company in Europe because we put the customer at the heart of everything we do. Our product design is second to none, we have no hidden costs and we are constantly building new and innovative financial products.”
“The launch of the bank in Italy will provide a greater level of security and confidence for our customers and allow us to launch a number of new products and services in the near future.”
Revolut Bank expands
In just six years, Revolut has attracted more than 16 million customers worldwide. Last year, Revolut launched its specialized bank in Poland and Lithuania and began offering highly competitive credit products in both countries. With its entry into Italy, Revolut Bank now operates in 18 EU markets. The specialized banking license allows Revolut Bank to provide limited banking services through the Revolut app along with a range of financial services and products offered by other Revolut Group companies.
Using the Revolut app, customers can see exactly how much they spend each month on spending categories such as restaurants or shopping, set monthly spending budgets, send and request money from friends and receive it instantly, round up card payments and set aside change. Revolut customers can also spend and transfer money around the world with no hidden fees, hold and exchange 29 currencies in the app and send money to friends and family instantly.
