Dogecoin for Tesla’s merch
Thanks to this announcement, as is often the case after Elon Musk’s tweets, DOGE has risen by 15%.
This will not enable you to buy Teslas with Dogecoin, but it seems to be the first step to “see how it goes”, explains Musk.
Elon Musk and crypto payments for Tesla
Elon had previously announced that he would allow Teslas to be bought in another cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, but then decided to remove this option due to its substantial carbon footprint.
He later announced his love for Dogecoin with a series of tweets about DOGE and also about Shiba Inu.
Time names him Person of the Year 2021
A few days ago, Musk was named Time’s Person of the Year and during his speech he also spoke about crypto, calling it interesting but doubting that it could replace fiat currencies.
Consequently, despite his support for the cryptocurrency sector, he is not too optimistic but almost moderate about their adoption.
Elon Musk and his influence in the crypto world
At the beginning of December, a tweet of his mentioning “Dooooge” had pushed the Dogecoin (DOGE) market up by +6.8% and then down again, bringing the gain to 3.5%.
A few months ago, another tweet by Elon had seen the price of Dogecoin pump by 10%.
