Bitcoiner Peter McCormack has announced that he has purchased the British soccer team, Bedford FC, with the goal of bringing Bitcoin and the club into the Premier League.
Bitcoin takes the field with McCormack’s Bedford FC
The Bitcoin investor’s purchase of Bedford FC, which is in Division 1 of the South Midlands League, announced its strategy in a roundup of tweets.
“So what is the plan? To get our club into the Premier League, 9 promotions…
…I am a bitcoiner, we aim big. If we can separate money and state, we can get a football club into the Premier League.”
McCormack wants to involve Bitcoin in his business strategy: in merchandising, sponsorships, educational materials for fans and communities, and, where possible, also facilitate open-source development.
“It is all about winning games, to win games you need the best players and managers. To afford the best players and managers you need to be commercially successful.
I will establish our club as the #bitcoin club, a team that operates on a #bitcoin standard.
/ There are two specific phases to this:
– Local: getting the team to the National League
– National: getting the team into the Premier League
Both phases require a different strategy, but ultimately we need to be commercially successful.”
McCormack went on to say that the team has already secured several sponsorship deals that bring it to be, in terms of revenue, at a small League 1 club. His future goal will then be to also create a bitcoin treasury to commercially support the club by making it Premier League.
Bitcoin to create soccer clubs and commercial strategies
McCormack makes his entire business strategy public right on the crypto-lovers’ social.
In another of his tweets, the new Bedford FC buyer said that compared to other local teams that can tap into a local community of fans/businesses to drive revenue, with Bitcoin, Bedford FC would have the backing of a global army of Bitcoin holders and businesses.
Not only that, McCormack urges users not to pass up the opportunity to get involved in this “team game.”
“Let’s not let FTX, http://Crypto.com and Ryan Reynolds have all the fun…
…3.5bn people watch the Premier League alone, we can use this to communicate a #bitcoin standard.”
Not just soccer, BTC is already in the strategies of politics
The queen of cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin (BTC), is fluctuating and remains at $48,000, still a long way from its $60,000 brushed by in the last month, but far surpassed in mid-October, yet everyone wants to hold and engage with it.
Like McCormack in his soccer strategy, US politicians lately involved Bitcoin in their candidacies or political party fundraising.
Recently, Don Huffines, the Republican candidate for governor of Texas, said that he had revised the entire Bitcoin Policy of the state to make Texas the “Citadel of Bitcoin” after it was already named by his predecessor as the “Mecca of Bitcoin Miners.”
The two mayors of Miami and New York, Francis Suarez and Eric Adams, respectively, have both said they would like to receive their salaries in BTC.
Even the Senate candidate for Alabama, Katie Britt, has made available on her official website the specification that you can send donations in BTC but also BCH, ETH, DOGE, LTC and USDC via BitPay.
