UK cryptocurrency valuation platform Evai.io has published a report covering cryptocurrency performance in 2021.

Ethereum outperformed Bitcoin

In particular, the data collected highlights three trends that are considered very interesting.

The first is related to the fact that ETH price performance has greatly outperformed that of BTC. In fact, in the last 12 months, the price of Bitcoin has increased by about 72%, while that of Ethereum by 407%.

Notably, during the last 30 days, Bitcoin’s average rating for Evai.io has been downgraded to the C2 level.

However, both ETH and BTC during 2021 made their new all-time highs, greatly outperforming the lows touched during the March 2020 financial market crash. In addition, institutional investors have continued to enter this market.

The Sandbox top performer

The second interesting trend concerns SAND (The Sandbox). In fact, Evai.io’s artificial intelligence protocol identified it as a top performer as early as July 2021, when its rating went from B1 to A3. Over the past five months, SAND has then reached its new all-time high.

Investors’ ever-increasing appetite for NFTs may have also contributed to this success. In fact, this market grew to $48.5 billion in 2021.

Cryptocurrency report: Terra and the other best of 2021

The third interesting trend regards LUNA (Terra), whose rating went from B2 to A3.

In fact, during 2021, the performance of its price was resounding: +13,000%

It is very likely that behind this performance is the new boom of DeFi, whose total market capitalization has increased during the year from $21 billion to over $153 billion.

Other interesting cryptocurrencies or tokens turned out to be Decentraland (MANA) and Enjin (ENJ), both of which grew thanks to the new momentum that metaverse is getting.

As far as DeFi is concerned, the other great protagonist of 2021, in addition to LUNA, was Avalanche (AVAX).

In the NFT sector, in addition to SAND, also Axie Infinity (AXS), Theta (THETA), and Tezos (XTZ) stood out.

Methodology

Evai’s ratings are calculated by examining the various cryptocurrencies’ most relevant technical and quantitative characteristics.

Category A ratings are the highest, while category B ratings refer to solid projects. In contrast, the C rating identifies below-average ones, while the lower categories (D to U) identify struggling projects or cannot be rated due to a lack of key data.
