Tron’s decentralized autonomous organization TRON DAO in partnership with BitTorrent Chain (BTTC), is launching the TRON Grand Hackathon 2022.
The Hackathon is part of TRON DAO’s long-term plan to promote the mass adoption of blockchain technology and cross-chain solutions. It was this past December that Tron transitioned to a fully decentralized project by becoming a community-governed DAO.
“The future is not far from where decentralized storage, decentralized applications, digital assets, and cryptocurrency wallets are widespread. With the increasing use of decentralized, peer-to-peer, and secure networks, blockchain is becoming the backbone of Web 3.0 – the decentralized web,” said H.E. Justin Sun, founder of TRON.
With this Hackathon, the idea is to empower developers to create innovative projects in the field of decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), GameFi, and Web3.
It is an opportunity for talented developers, designers, and entrepreneurs to build blockchain-related applications and promote the growth of the ecosystem.
The registration for the Hackathon that aims to build a robust content and entertainment community on TRON as well as other blockchain platforms starts on February 14 and ends on March 7.
Contestants will have to complete the registration form, are required to specify the category of their entry project name, and be advised to give a detailed description of the logic and characteristics of their project.
It will be voted on via the new TRON DAO Forum platform. Besides the community review board on the Forum, the review panel will also consist of crypto experts and KOLs. While community reviewer’s scores will account for 40%, crypto experts’ and KOLs scores will be 30% each.
Contestants are further encouraged to submit their projects to the Forum with details covering project introduction, expected milestones and achievements, screenshots, and photos, or render, as well as a working prototype and video. The latter two are optional. It is advised to do so early on as the project’s interactions with community members within the Forum will also be taken into consideration while judging the projects.
This is the first season of Hackathon, and each will be split into four tracks viz. DeFi, GameFi, NFT, and Web3. With an aggregate bounty of $500,000, this funding event will commence every three months to promote the growth of the TRON and BTTC ecosystem.
