A new survey commissioned by digital asset platform Bakkt shows that the most popular digital assets among US-based crypto holders are Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

The 504 cryptocurrency owners who participated in the “Women & Crypto” study reported that their top investments are the crypto stalwarts Bitcoin and Ethereum, followed by the meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE).

“Both men and women crypto owners in the study reported their top coin investments as Bitcoin and Ether, followed by Dogecoin and then a variety of other coins.”

The study, which was conducted in February and surveyed 1,012 consumers across the US who either own or do not own crypto assets, looked into the attitude and awareness of women towards crypto and how these differ from those of men.

The majority of the participants strongly associate cryptos with men, but the women who have not yet invested in digital assets claim that the leading barriers to their crypto adoption are not knowing how to get started, not understanding crypto utility, and lacking extra funds for investment.

The survey also reveals how crypto owners tend to acquire their first digital coins. Says Nancy Gordon, Chief Product Officer Loyalty and Rewards at Bakkt,

“We saw strong appeal for new pathways for acquiring crypto with gifting, redeeming loyalty points for crypto, and earning crypto through loyalty programs surpassing traditional methods and giving way to opportunities for inclusivity and accessibility regardless of gender or income level.”
