Mike Novogratz defends Ukraine against Peter Schiff’s criticism of their President

Well-known pro-Bitcoin billionaire, Mike Novogratz, has taken to Twitter to defend the people and President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, against criticism from Peter Schiff, a well-known American investment broker.

“After that comment I am ready to challenge Peter Schiff to a cage match where profits go to charity of your choice. I’ll donate to Ukraine relief. I’m just sick of your smugness Peter. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives, their country and their freedom.Have some respect”.

“I understand times are hard, but doesn’t the President of the Ukraine own a suit? I don’t have much respect for current members of the U.S. Congress either, but I still wouldn’t address them wearing a t-shirt. I wouldn’t want to disrespect the institution or the Unites States”.

Peter Schiff, trolled by his son Spencer Schiff for being against Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, wanted to comment on the clothes worn by President Zelenskyy of Ukraine when addressing American institutions.

In contrast, Novogratz challenges him, defending the general situation Ukraine is experiencing and stating that he wants to donate to the people in need.

The official website for crypto donations for Ukraine is active

Mike Novogratz and donations to Ukraine in crypto

Given Novogratz’s blatant support for Bitcoin and crypto, his pledge to “donate to Ukraine” would suggest that the well-known billionaire may be part of all those donors who are using cryptocurrencies for this mission.

Indeed, recently, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced that the official crypto donation site for Ukraine had been activated.

On the first night alone, the site reportedly raised $48 million in crypto, while at the time of writing we are at $55 million

Something that seems to have already doubled other crypto donations from the previous week, which amounted to $50 million.

In that case, too, it was the deputy prime minister who made the news public, emphasizing how democracy, even digital democracy, is present in the face of Putin’s encroachment on freedom and democracy
