Adidas is pulling out all the stops to celebrate the arrival of its latest Ozworld Collection, with the brand launching the first personality-based AI-generated avatar creation platform. The platform is being launched in collaboration with the cross-game avatar platform, Ready Player Me. The online Ozworld experience will enable users to create their unique digital avatars.
Thanks to the exclusive collaboration with Ready Player Me, these avatars can then be taken around the web.
Collaboration With Ready Player Me
The collaboration with Ready Player Me marks Adidas’ continued expansion into the metaverse and the NFT space. Ready Player Me is a cross-application avatar platform that has been specifically created for the metaverse. The platform will allow anyone to explore the virtual world once they have created their unique digital avatars. The Ozworld collection was originally launched in the 90s, featuring a dynamic adiprene cushioned outsole and upper.
The partnership with Ready Player Me will enable fans of the collection to create avatars that can utilize the Adidas Ozworld brand. Adidas released a statement addressing the partnership, stating,
“Each unique avatar will be able to traverse the web through a bespoke partnership with Ready Player Me. This is the first brand partnership that pushes the platform’s limits – offering interoperability in generative avatars with over 1,500 different metaverse apps and games.”
The launch of the AI-generated Avatar Creation Platform is scheduled for the 8th of April, with those users that are members of Adiclub or hold Adidas NFTs eligible for early access to the metaverse. The first installment of the Avatars will launch on the 28th of April.
Deploy Avatars On Social Media
Users will be prompted to answer a series of questions and will be required to choose their favorite Ozworld footwear silhouette. The questions will help the platform learn more about the users, and once this information has been shared, it will be translated by the platform into a unique digital avatar, taking inspiration from the collection’s dynamic visual codes.
Once users have generated their characters, they can animate their avatars, try on sneakers digitally from the collection, and purchase them. Users will also be able to download their Ozworld avatars and deploy them on social media accounts as stickers or GIFs.
Adidas believes that this partnership pushes the platform’s boundaries, offering interoperability with more than 1500 metaverse apps and games.
Testing The Waters
Adidas has been experimenting with NFTs and the metaverse in recent times. Back in November 2021, the company revealed that it had partnered with Coinbase and The Sandbox. Then in December, the company announced that it was collaborating with the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT project.
Adidas Originals has also launched an NFT collection in collaboration with Punk Comics, Gmoney, and the BAYC project. The Adidas Originals NFTs has been one of the top NFT projects in terms of sales.
