Messari Governor was launched in December 2021 to ensure users never miss a major governance proposal or vote while also providing additional context and analysis on each proposal.

Today, we are excited to release two new key features to complement the current proposal aggregator:

  • A directory of 850+ DAOs
  • A directory of 350+ DAO tools

These directories represent the largest database of DAOs and tools to date. Each DAO and tool is classified with a dedicated taxonomy to allow advanced filtering and discovery. We believe this will make it easier for:

  • Contributors and newcomers to find DAOs that match their interest.
  • DAO Operators to find tools and services that will help them streamline their processes and conduct competitive analysis on other DAOs’ processes and structure.
  • Funds and service providers to conduct market research and analysis.

How to get started?

Head over to messari.io/governor to get started. From there, you can access the dedicated DAO & Tool views.

You can filter DAOs & tools by types and tags to refine the results and use the search bar to search for specific keywords. Whether you are a fan of music, a developer, or want to find a design agency for your Web3 project, we’ve got you covered.

Not seeing enough results on your screen? Switch to the table view to view more results at once.

Digging Deeper

Click on any DAO / Tool to visit their dedicated profile!

The most robust DAO profiles will contain:

  • Mission and values of the DAO, with a concise description

  • Detailed governance process breakdown, from when a proposal is being discussed to its final on-chain execution

  • DAO org chart displaying guilds, working groups, and sub-DAOs.

  • List of tools used for internal / external purposes

  • Latest proposals, whether they are being discussed, voted on, or have passed

The most robust DAO tool profiles will contain:

  • A short description of the tool and its use-cases

  • A list of DAOs using this tool / features in this tool

  • A list of similar tools

Each profile will also contain the links to the main social channels, along with a link to the website of the DAO / Tool. You can also propose edits or information to add for an existing profile by clicking on the suggest edits button.

We believe those profiles will help active participants and newcomers alike get a better understanding of the space, attract more contributors into the different DAOs, and serve as a basis for deeper market research & business development.

  • Aggregating on-chain credentials and building robust voters profiles
  • Tracking accurate treasury holdings and allocations across protocols
