TAG Heuer is joining the list of luxury brands accepting payments in Bitcoin and crypto. Here is the announcement:

The famous Swiss watch brand has signed a partnership with BitPay, the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency payment processor, to offer this new service to its US customers.
The website features a pop-up that reads the following:
“WE ACCEPT CRYPTO PAYMENTS
Payment methods evolve, we do too. Only in the US, we accept payments in numerous cryptocurrencies up to 10 000 USD. The process is as simple as usual and the list of supported currencies is available at the payment step”.
TAG Heuer offers Bitcoin and crypto payments in the US
Techniques d’Avant Garde (TAG), founded over a century and a half ago by Edouard Heuer in Switzerland, has reportedly reserved Bitcoin and crypto payments for its US customers to purchase its high-quality watches.
Along with BitPay, TAG will accept a dozen cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE) and five other stablecoins, with a maximum of $10,000 per transaction and no minimum spending requirements.
In this regard, Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG said:
“We have been following cryptocurrency developments very closely ever since bitcoin first started trading. As an avant-garde watchmaker with an innovative spirit, we knew TAG Heuer would adopt what promises to be a globally integrated technology in the near future despite the fluctuations”.
Luxury evolves with BTC
There are many Luxury brands that want to innovate, involving BTC and other crypto as payment methods.
And indeed, in this 2022 alone, the number of companies that have taken this route has increased, counting on evolving financially as well. In fashion for example, there is the Italian luxury giant Gucci, which accepts as many as 10 cryptocurrencies in some of its US shops.
Even the fashion house Off-White, creator of one of the trendiest and most popular shoe brands among young people, has introduced payments in BTC, ETH, BNB, XRP, USDT and USDC in its flagship shops in London, Paris and Milan.
Changing sectors, there is also one of the UAE’s leading airlines, Emirates Airline, which has stated that it is adding Bitcoin as a payment method. Emirates said it is also working to develop applications involving metaverse and NFTs.
