The celebrity-backed Metaverse launches its land sale, with 10,000 parcels of land available for purchase.
CEEK, a popular celebrity-sponsored platform offering an all-inclusive Metaverse for creators, has announced its latest land sale launch, giving users an opportunity to own parcels of land that form the basis of the creator-owned metaverse experience. Announced this week, prospective buyers can participate in the CEEK land sale via their official website or land.ceek.com portal to purchase the lots.
The land sale includes a total of 10,000 parcels of ‘Downtown CEEK’, the first area on CEEK to be publicly sold, with minting done in phases. The ‘Downtown CEEK’ area includes seven types of land, each with its own unique qualities, varying rarity, and reward opportunities. The largest fixed-size parcel is the Kingdom, which measures a 20×20 plot of land. Other available types of land include City, Private Island, Estate, Bay, and Parcel, measured in descending size respectively.
Furthermore, buyers can place bids on unique “Venue” lots, which can be used to host events within the Metaverse. The unique “Venue” lots offer users a customized plot size with a unique feel and size, as well as different rewards. Simply, purchasing the best lot requires a mix of good location, size, closeness to popular gathering points and even utility for the individual buyers.
To participate in the land sale, buyers require a Metamask or CEEK Wallet, with the initial land being only purchasable for CEEK tokens. Once the initial sale is complete, the land parcels will be made available on secondary markets such as Binance NFT, OpenSea and others. The plots will be available for BNB, ETH and other assets in the near future.
“The highly anticipated CEEK land sale will finally open doors for everyone to create and monetize experiences in virtual worlds,” said Mary Spio, CEO of CEEK. “ We want all types of creators to feel at home in CEEK. This also includes the many celebrities, sports teams and brands who have chosen to work with us to engage their fans and new ones in a truly unique way.”
The land sale will be the first step for CEEK to provide the first fully community-owned metaverse, which “rewards the creators for their hard work”, Spio added. Each parcel of land entitles holders to rewards based on the economic activities they have such as NFT and avatar assets, and virtual concert ticket sales. The larger the plot size, the more ad revenue, event ticket sales, and drops of gem NFTs users can get on the metaverse. Additionally, land owners will receive CEEK tokens and airdrop events by brands and other projects associated with CEEK.
Over its short lifespan, CEEK has focused on securing crucial partnerships and collaborations with major pop culture stars including Lady Gaga, Ziggy Marley, Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi, J Balvin, Future and Kodak Black. Recently, CEEK announced a partnership with World Music Awards, which was hosted by Miley Cyrus and attended by legends such as Beyoncé, Bon Jovi, Kanye West and Rihanna. The team has also received adoration from Meta (formerly Facebook Inc.), with a view to collaborating in the future.
Finally, Tim Draper’s Draper University is also working with CEEK to build, create and mint new exciting products in its metaverse. The developments will add to the existing content and experiences on the metaverse such as the CEEK VR App which features several top artists including J Balvin, Future, Lady Gaga, Ziggy Marley and more. The celebrities will have villas in CEEK, hold concerts and other types of activities, and land near these locations will be naturally more visited.
