Get ready for CORAL REEFERS – literally the coolest CO2 neutral, generative digital art of the year created to restore coral reefs. As an irreplaceable bedrock of the ocean’s biodiversity, coral reefs are home to over 1 million species – 25% of all marine life – making them critical to keeping the ocean healthy, essential to keeping the planet’s climate in check.  Project Zero is launching Coral Reefers on November 10 during COP27 to keep the ocean – our biggest ally in the fight against the climate crisis – in the conversation.

Project Zero is a charity that uses popular culture to reach people, creating events and experiences across art, sports, music and digital that get the world talking and open up new sources of revenue that is used to protect and restore a global network of ocean sanctuaries and blue carbon ecosystems.

“The ocean covers approximately 71% of Earth’s surface. It’s our biggest ally in the fight against the climate crisis. We need everyone’s help in restoring the ocean to save our planet. The growing web3 ecosystem is the perfect place to grow a community of like-minded people who want to tackle the climate crisis head on.” – Alexandra Richards, DJ, Model, Project Zero Board Member

Project Zero amassed an impressive army of over 100 influential ambassadors, comprised of globally recognized personalities culture who are passionate about helping the ocean; notable names include Cara Delevingne, Slash, Alana Hadid, Jordan Barrett, Lucy Guo, Princess Eugenie of York, Georgia Fowler, and big wave surfer Laird Hamilton to name a few.  CORAL REEFERS launches on November 10 and is the organization’s first foray into digital art.

Project Zero worked with digital artist Alexander Rutterford and OG Protocol on the CORAL REEFERS collection that evolves over six weeks after purchase.  (Note:  Each picture above shows generation 3 in a 7 generation journey for each CORAL REEFERS digital artwork.) This innovative and beautiful collection goes on sale at the start of COP27 held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt to highlight the importance of the ocean’s role in climate change.

“OG Protocol helps projects create next generation dynamic NFTs. It combines the best in creativity with blockchain technology to create truly engaging collections; collections that respond to real-life or digital events and change in a unique way, putting digital asset owners at the center of such special experiences. We’re thrilled to be working with Project Zero on Coral Reefers to blend gorgeous art and cutting-edge technology for the important cause of preserving the ocean for the future of humanity.” – Andy Alekhin, CEO of OG Protocol

Project Zero teamed up with BabsLabs to ignite the Web3 community activation ahead of the drop.  Founded by Catie Romero-Finger and Nastya Adamova, BABs is a full-service Web3 communication and marketing agency committed to highlighting the importance and role of women and diversity in the nascent sector that’s booming around disruptive blockchain technologies.

By seeking to incite the participation of a younger and environmentally-conscious community, Project Zero is creating a new and potent revenue stream for returning the ocean, our biggest ally in the battle against the climate crisis, back in shape – beginning with the restoration of coral reefs in Costa Rica.

“We’re really proud of CORAL REEFERS. The artwork is so original and gorgeous, the technology is first class, and the project that the work is funding is incredible.  We’re working with Raising Coral in Costa Rica, who are restoring coral reefs on both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts.   It’s critical to remember that restoring the ocean is integral to battling the climate crisis, so we’re launching the collection during COP27 to remind people of this fact. ”  – Michele Clarke, CEO/Founder, Project Zero

Living on the newly merged and CO2 neutral Ethereum blockchain, each Coral Reefers doubles as a Seaverse membership that comes with exciting members-only benefits. To learn more about Coral Reefers, visit weareprojectzero.org
