Today the crypto company Elrond announced its rebranding to MultiversX to expand its applications in the Web3 and metaverse.
The company will focus primarily on three fronts:
- xFabric: a blockchain module, the heart of applications that will be usable in a matter of minutes and can be customized to your liking thanks to the many opportunities offered to companies and developers.
- xPortal: a superApp, which will serve as a portal to access the metaverse. A platform to manage one’s avatar but also a debit card to spend crypto and a chat to interact with other users.
- xWorlds is an engine for the creation of new worlds. A network that will make metaverse interoperability possible.
Benjamin Mincu, CEO and founder of MultiversX (henceforth formerly Elrond), said:
“Incredible amounts of creative energy are being poured into multiple compelling metaverse visions. MultiversX is building the collaborative framework and composable toolkit to set up the stage.”
Of course, MultiversX will continue to use Elrond’s blockchain ecosystem and the EGLD crypto.
This announcement of the rebranding of Elrond to MultiversX was officially made during the three-day event now underway in Paris, where Jean-Noel Barrot, French Minister for Digital Transition and Telecommunications, Sebastian Burduja, Romanian Minister for Research, Innovation and Digitization, and prominent leaders from the finance, blockchain, Web3 and Metaverse industries were introduced to the new platform.
News about Elrond and the crypto EGLD
During the event yesterday it was also announced that the Opera browser, which has over 300 million users, is now compatible with Elrond.
Meanwhile, the EGLD crypto, which is the native token of Elrond’s blockchain, is rising and has come to be worth over $63. During this week, EGLD has risen as high as $63.76, reaching a weekly high, after touching $56 as the low in the last 7 days.
Admittedly, we are still a long way from the crypto’s all time high (ATH) that reached $542 during November last year, but there is a lot of interesting news happening in the Elrond household.
Recently, for example, EGLD was integrated on Revolut, the popular fintech app with more than 20 million customers worldwide.
