- Ripple teams up with EasyA to teach XRPL smart contract deployment, bridging the gap until the Hooks protocol arrives.
- EasyA’s “60 Days of XRPL Challenge” offers a structured learning path for XRPL history, dApp building, and front-end development.
Leading blockchain firm Ripple and Web3 education resource EasyA have partnered to launch a thorough course module on XRP Ledger (XRPL) smart contract setup. This collaboration will equip people with the information and abilities needed to fully utilize XRPL’s upcoming smart contract capabilities.
What if YOU could deploy the world’s first smart contract on XRP Ledger’s all-new EVM right from your phone?
Starting today, you can! For the first time, you can bring your smart contracts to #XRPL and we’re showing you how!

Unlocking XRPL’s Smart Contract Potential
Although the XRPL has long been known for its unique features and capabilities, one item that might significantly increase its utility is support for smart contracts, which it has noticeably lacked. On the other hand, the XRPL community has been excitedly anticipating the introduction of smart contract features to the network with the Hooks protocol. Regrettably, there have been delays in Hooks’ release.
For XRPL, Ripple has proactively teamed up with Peersyst Technology to construct an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) sidechain due to these delays. With the help of this Ethereum-compatible sidechain, developers will be able to implement smart contracts on XRPL. With this calculated action, XRPL adoption for many use cases will likely happen sooner.
EVM Sidechain Advancements and Collaboration with EasyA
With the mainnet launch approaching, the EVM sidechain for XRPL is already in an advanced state of development. The initiative’s driving force, Peersyst Technologies, has updated the public on XChainBridge’s development, indicating that it is almost complete.
Parallel to these technological advancements, EasyA and Ripple collaborated to provide a comprehensive learning program known as “60 Days of XRPL.” The six tasks in this module are intended to lead participants through comprehending XRPL, from its background to developing dApps (XRPL decentralized applications) and creating aesthetically pleasing front ends for these applications. Importantly, this course is accessible to individuals through their smartphones.
EasyA boasts a developer base comprising over 750,000 individuals, with content spanning multiple blockchain networks, including Solana, VeChain, Sui, and Polkadot. By introducing XRPL to this large developer network and others, the “60 Days of XRPL” course hopes to improve XRPL’s ecology and encourage its wider acceptance.
Moreover, venture capital firms, including Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), have contributed funds to EasyA. Notably, the developer pool comprises people connected to esteemed universities and top companies and founders of noteworthy startups. This partnership demonstrates the XRPL ecosystem’s dedication to supporting innovation.
Future Opportunities for XRPL Developers
In addition to the learning module, EasyA has announced plans to invite standout developers from the “60 Days of XRPL” challenge to participate in a hackathon scheduled for April 2024 in London. This event allows developers to pitch their startup ideas, compete for a $25,000 prize, and access funding, grant opportunities, and mentorship for their innovative projects.
Over the past year, the XRP Ledger has witnessed remarkable growth and innovation. While the EVM sidechain remains a prominent topic, other protocols, such as the Xahau Sidechain and the Layer-2 scaling solution Evernode, have also gained attention.
XRP’s market performance reflects these developments, with the coin trading at $0.5342, marking a 1.69% increase in the past 24 hours.
