The highly anticipated interoperable blockchain game Illuvium has been released on the Epic Games store. Players can download the game client from Epic Games, watch the cinematic introduction, and complete the tutorial.
The game’s developer released three separate yet interconnected games on the Epic Games Store, branding it as the “official game launch” after a play-to-airdrop campaign.
Details Of The Game
The game, built on the Ethereum scaling network Immutable X, consists of three titles: Illuvium Overworld, Illuvium Arena, and Illuvium Zero. The titles span three distinct genres but are linked with each other, allowing players to be completely immersed in them. Illuvium Overworld is an open-world survival game. Players must gather resources to repair their stranded ships. Players will also come across Illuvials, mythical creatures native to the Illuvium universe that players can hunt and capture.
Players can also craft specialized gear and unique items to help with their journey across the open world. They can also undertake missions, connect with other players in real time, share discoveries, and stay informed about events. The Illuvium Arena offers players strategic combat opportunities through which they can battle other players. It also offers different game modes such as Ascendant (1v1 battles), Survival Mode (PvE challenges), and Gauntlet Mode (8-player free-for-all).
The last of the three is Illuvium Zero, where players must establish and manage an outpost to produce food, fuel, and other resources critical for exploration. Players can also unlock blueprints and new technologies that can improve their equipment and help them adapt to the environment. They can also trade blueprints with other players.
Airdrop Campaign
The official launch comes after a play-to-airdrop campaign that incentivized players to check the game’s beta tests. Players could earn airdrop points by participating in a public beta test, with some rewards distributed in June. However, the airdrop campaign will continue for another six months, and players will be able to earn a portion of the 180,000 $ILV reward pool by completing in-game tasks and milestones. The campaign will distribute 30,000 $ILV each season.
Game Updates
The game developers also plan to release continuous updates, special events, and new content based on community feedback. According to its official roadmap, Illuvium has been in development for a number of years and began raising funds in Q4 2020. Following this, the developers created an initial prototype of the game and transitioned it to the Unreal Engine platform in the same quarter.
