Polkadot is the title sponsor for Coinfest Asia 2024, the largest Web3 festival in Asia, set to take place in Indonesia, with over 6,000 participants and 250 speakers.
Polkadot Takes Center Stage At Coinfest Asia
The largest Web3 festival in Asia has found its title sponsor. Blockchain platform Polkadot will be the title sponsor for the Coinfest Asia event, which is scheduled to take place on August 22nd and 23rd, 2024, in Bali, Indonesia.
The sponsorship announcement was released on X.com by the Polkadot team, who wrote,
“Polkadot is the title sponsor of Coinfest Asia, the largest Web3 Festival in Asia! Over 6K participants, 2K companies and 250 speakers will exhibit the latest industry innovations and share insights on emerging markets in Asia.”
Polkadot Reps To Actively Participate
According to the announcement, several teams from the Polkadot ecosystem will attend the event, including Mandala Chain, Scytale Digital, Bifrost Omnichain, Kilt Protocol, The Kusamarian, and more.
Further, the announcement also revealed that technical educator Filippo Franchini from the Web3 Foundation (which founded Polkadot as an open-source project) will attend the event. Franchini will participate in the festival’s keynote panel, “Unpack the Layers: Advancing Web3 Scalability,” where he will be joined by representatives from other Web3 leaders like the Arbitrum Foundation, Layer 1 protocol Monad, and BNB Chain.
$DOT Continues To Struggle
Polkadot’s native token, $DOT, has had a challenging time recently because it missed out on the market recovery experienced by Bitcoin and the larger altcoin market. The crypto’s value has struggled to raise its head above the significant $6 point and is currently trading at $5.67 at the time of writing.
“Largest Web3 Event In Asia”
The event is being touted as the largest Web3 festival in Asia, with over 6,000 participants from over 65 countries. Over 2000 companies are participating in the event, which currently boasts over 250 speakers.
According to the Coinfest website, the event is looking to expand the reach of Web3 in emerging markets, especially in Southeast Asia, which is the world’s fastest-growing Web3 region. One of the main goals of the event is to move into widespread Web3 adoption by fostering collaborations, starting with Indonesia, which gets over 400k new crypto users every month.
The website also revealed that ticketholders will be able to listen to panel discussions, access workshops, meetups, and side sessions, and directly network with the festival’s speakers. Other events at the festival include Hackathons, pitching sessions, and trading competitions.
