Charles Hoskinson, has recently arrived in Argentina for a series of meetings with government officials, including Buenos Aires City Mayor Jorge Macri and President Javier Milei’s administration. These discussions are pivotal as they precede the Cardano Constitutional Convention scheduled for December 2024 at the University of Buenos Aires Law School.

“The City is pleased to host the Constitution Convention.”

During his visit, Hoskinson met with Mayor Jorge Macri. While specific details of their conversation were not widely disclosed, Hoskinson remarked that it was a “good moment” and expressed appreciation for Buenos Aires hosting the upcoming convention. 

Mayor Macri highlighted the meeting’s importance for fostering a conducive environment for private investment and for exploring innovative technologies that could enhance digital interaction efficiency and security.

Additionally, Hoskinson engaged with Argentina’s Foreign Minister, Diana Mondino, and other officials, focusing on the December event and potential future opportunities. Mauro Andreoli, Cardano’s ambassador in Argentina, noted that these discussions were fruitful in planning for the convention and exploring further collaborations.

As we have been writing about Buenos Aires, Hoskinson is also scheduled to speak at the Argentina Digital Nation (ADN) event, which aims to showcase Argentina’s potential through Web3 innovations. He will participate in a panel discussing Argentina’s position in the Web3 era and its prospects as a global powerhouse.

The Cardano Constitutional Convention aims to draft foundational principles of decentralized governance, emphasizing community-based decision-making and enhancing network transparency to prevent potential manipulations by centralized entities.

In June 2024, the Cardano Foundation announced a collaborative agreement with the province of Entre Ríos to promote the adoption of Cardano’s technology in the region. Details on how this partnership will integrate with the administrative functions of Entre Ríos are yet to be clarified.

Furthermore, the National Technological University of Buenos Aires (UTN) has agreed to establish a blockchain laboratory in partnership with the Cardano Foundation, marking another significant step towards integrating blockchain technology into local educational and technological frameworks.
