OneCoin: the over 400 victims of the crypto scam obtain the freezing of the assets of the alleged fraudsters

According to what reported, it seems that the case of OneCoin has been presented directly to the High Court of London.

And in fact, there are over 400 investors victims of the crypto scam who are joining the legal case, with the goal of obtaining compensation for their losses, which amount to a total of 4 billion dollars.

For now, what has been achieved is a worldwide freezing order against numerous individuals and companies connected to OneCoin, defined as alleged fraudsters.

First and foremost, under accusation are Ruja Ignatova and Karl Sebastian Greenwood, founders of OneCoin, then OneCoin Limited and One Network Services Limited, the companies through which one of the largest crypto scams was built.

Among others, there are numerous influencers of OneCoin such as Karri Wahlroos, Dr. Muhammed Zafar, Moynul Islam and his brother, Monirul Islam. Following this, the list of accused includes Christopher Hamilton and Robert MacDonald, who are believed to have laundered significant proceeds from the OneCoin fraud.

The actions of these subjects are now under investigation.

OneCoin: the legal case against the conspiracy behind the crypto scam

The group of investors is represented by the lawyers of the international law firm Mishcon de Reya LLP.

Specifically, the legal case against the individuals and companies connected to OneCoin argues that it is precisely a conspiracy of illicit means, deception, breach of fiduciary duty, dishonest assistance, and under section 423 of the Insolvency Act of 1986.

In this regard, Rhymal Persad, partner at Mishcon de Reya, explained:

“The fraudulent scheme of OneCoin had a strong impact on the lives of its victims, ranging from sophisticated investors to laypeople, and all lost significant amounts in what is believed to be one of the largest frauds ever perpetrated. On behalf of the victims, Mishcon de Reya has initiated what we believe to be the first class action of its kind in the United Kingdom. The legal action at the High Court of London aims to obtain compensation for the investors who were deceived and suffered losses as a result.”

This legal action against the alleged fraudsters is initiated on an “opt-in” basis. This means that the investors who are victims of OneCoin and want to participate, can join to claim their compensation.

The CryptoQueen on the run and the 4 years in prison for the legal officer
