In the coming days of September, we will be able to witness a wide range of crypto airdrops related to various projects in the ecosystem.
Although this month is generally seen with a bear bias on the price front, the schedule of upcoming token distributions suggests a subtle optimism in the air.
In this article we see the most promising airdrops coming to the Ethereum, Solana, and Ton blockchains. All the details below.
The crypto airdrops expected in September: focus on the Ethereum blockchain and restaking
As for the Ethereum environment, the month of September promises important news on the airdrop front, particularly on the crypto restaking front.
First of all, let’s look at the well-known Eigenlayer project, which after the recent announcement of the “Stakedrop 2”, will give birth to the EIGEN resource by the end of the month.
The cryptocurrency, offered as an incentive to staker, developers, and contributors of the cryptographic ecosystem, will become transferable and spendable starting from September 30.
This concludes a distribution process that began in April with the release of the first information regarding the highly anticipated airdrop.
At the moment EIGEN in premarket is priced at 3.6 dollars, for an estimated FDV exceeding 6 billion dollars.
In September, the final act of the airdrop of the liquid restaking platform Swell is also expected, with the eponymous token ready to debut on the market. In previous months, it was possible to farm points “pearls”, currently valued at 0.10 dollars per unit, by staking one’s resources on the protocol. Users will soon be rewarded with a share of the new crypto SWELL.
Incredibly, Swell will reward the holders of rswETH by also distributing to them the share of EIGEN tokens accumulated over time. In fact, for those who have been seeking yield on Swell, 2 airdrops in 1 are due.
Finally, to close the circle of restaking activities on Ethereum there is Karak, a protocol that exploded in the summer of 2024. Even if here the probabilities of a launch in September are lower compared to the first two, we almost certainly know that the TGE of the token will take place by the end of the year.
We expect a noteworthy reward for this project, which has been excluded by many users and therefore is under-farmed.
Two important crypto distributions in sight for the Solana ecosystem
The positive streak of crypto airdrops in September also spills over into the Solana ecosystem, where there are two profit opportunities for the community.
The first obviously concerns the DePin project Grass, which has garnered a lot of attention due to its free operational component.
Through a browser extension and a simple connection to internet, it was possible to accumulate various points for months that would later be converted into airdrop.
That moment is now approaching, as the Grass team recently unveiled the distribution checker, revealing the amount of tokens allocated to each address.
Given the very large user base, with participation exceeding 2 million units, we do not expect a particularly profitable drop.
The crypto GRASS is already listed in premarket around 0.33 dollars, but the allocation varies significantly based on the activity time and the referral program.
If you have invited 20 or more friends to join Grass and have been active since “EPOCH 0”, you can expect earnings between 50-100 dollars.
Another airdrop related to the Solana world, this time probably more interesting economically, is that of Debridge.
The cross-chain transfer platform has recently announced the checker of the DBR token, with a likely launch timeframe by the end of September.
Eligible users must choose in which mode to execute the claim of the attributed prize. On one hand, they can decide to claim 80% of the allocation, fully unlocked at TGE, permanently losing the remaining 20%.
On the other hand, they can redeem 50% at the TGE, and wait for a 6-month vesting period for the other half of the 50%.
At the moment the price of DBR in premarket is about 0.025 dollars, for an FDV of 25 million dollars.
Big airdrops in September also for Telegram mini-games
September is the month of crypto airdrops also for Ton and for its ecosystem of mini-apps based on Telegram.
On September 26, in fact, nothing less than the token HMSTR from the game Hamster Kombat will actually enter the market.
After months of uninterrupted play by the users, the time has finally come to reap what has been sown.
All major cryptocurrency exchanges have announced their support for the TGE and the listing of the cryptographic coin, which will debut on the blockchain of Ton.
HMSTR is valued at approximately 0.10 dollars in premarket, even though we do not yet know exactly how it will be distributed to the community.
The game has surpassed the threshold of 200 million daily active users, so despite the hype, we do not expect anything exciting in terms of reward.
In general, excluding users who have farmed with hundreds of addresses using sybil techniques, we expect less than 10 dollars per account.
It could go better instead with another mini-game developed on the Telegram stack, namely Catizen, with the scheduled debut of the CATI token.
This should also make its entrance into the crypto world in September, with some exchanges like MEXC that have already announced the listing on September 20.
Only the players who go from the Silver League to the Royal League will bring home the loot in tokens, with the snapshot that still needs to be announced.
CATI in premarket is traded at around 0.55 dollars, but here too it will be the unpredictability of the quotations to dominate at the launch.
Unlike Hamster Kombat, however, the users who have played are much fewer, and the opportunities to generate profit consequently increase.
If these two coins do well, we will probably have another wave of free crypto airdrops on Telegram to farm.
