A House Financial Services subcommittee debated whether SEC Chair Gensler’s preference for regulation-by-enforcement over crafting transparent, pro-active rulemakings tailored for digital asset firms is the right approach. Rep. Zach Nunn introduced a bill to combat pig-butchering and financial fraud by clarifying that the federal government may help state and local law enforcement use blockchain tracing tools.
