Pilot Program Involves 110 Kaiterra Sensors for Enhancing Guest Experience and Supporting ESG Efforts
Ambient, the largest decentralized network for environmental monitoring, announced today the successful deployment of blockchain-based air quality monitoring sensors in every room and public space at the Best Western McCarran Inn, in the city of Las Vegas. This pilot program marks a significant step in improving guest experiences through data-driven environmental practices.
The U.S. Consumer Sentiment on Indoor Air Quality survey found that 77% of consumers say that proof of a hotel’s IAQ would influence their decision to stay. Improved IAQ is linked to guest satisfaction, leading to higher rates of returning customers. Technology that supports operations through real-time data can reveal new opportunities to enhance guest satisfaction and drive operational efficiency.
Elevating Guest Comfort and Operational Efficiency
The deployment of 110 Kaiterra Sensedge Mini sensors in every room and public space at the Best Western McCarran Inn enables the tracking of essential indoor metrics such as temperature, humidity, particulate matter (PM2.5, PM10), volatile organic compounds (TVOC), and carbon dioxide (CO2). Real-time data empowers hotel management to make informed decisions, improving air quality and promoting energy efficiency while elevating guest comfort.
“Monitoring is just the beginning,” said Luca Franchi, CEO of Ambient. “The real value lies in leveraging this data to improve air quality, reduce energy consumption, and elevate the overall experience for hotel guests.”
Best Western McCarran Inn is aligning this program with BWH Hotel Group’s “Because We Care” initiative, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and guest well-being.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Ambient to supercharge our sustainability initiatives and transform the guest experience,” said Sanjay Govind of Inn Investment Group that serves as the Property Manager of Best Western Las Vegas.
Key benefits of the deployment being tested:
- Enhanced Guest Experience: Improved air quality leads to better sleep, comfort, and overall satisfaction for guests.
- Energy Efficiency: Sensors enable automated HVAC adjustments based on real-time environmental data, optimizing energy use and reducing costs.
- Informed Decision-Making: Real-time data allows management to make quick, actionable decisions that positively impact guest experience and operational sustainability.
- Scalability: This pilot program sets the stage for broader deployment across Best Western properties, delivering a consistent, scalable solution for air quality monitoring and operational efficiency.
Blockchain-Enabled Incentives and Data Security
In addition to the advanced monitoring capabilities, the sensors are powered by blockchain technology, adding a new dimension to the program. Participation in Ambient’s decentralized data network enables token-based incentives for contributing to environmental sustainability efforts. These token rewards can fund additional energy-saving initiatives and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) programs, ultimately allowing for exchanges such as carbon credits or tree planting.
Expanding the Ambient Global Network
This collaboration is part of Ambient’s broader mission to expand its global environmental monitoring network. With successful deployments across more than 20 countries, Ambient is paving the way for enhanced sustainability through real-time, actionable environmental data.
