You are currently viewing Space and Time Launches SXT Chain Testnet to Deliver ZK Data to Smart Contracts

Space and Time (SxT), the developer of decentralized data solutions, has used Chainlink SmartCon to unveil its largest solution to date. The SXT Chain testnet made its debut at the event, with Space and Time using the opportunity to reveal the core features that will power its ZK-based data network.

DeFi Gets the Data It Deserves

Space and Time is on a mission to replace conventional blockchain indexing services with a ZK-based alternative that promises sub-second speeds. Its existing SQL technology enables real-time blockchain data to be processed and fed into smart contracts, powering all kinds of applications including data-hungry AI/ML models.

SXT Chain will be instrumental in realizing this vision, providing DeFi and other onchain sectors with the data delivery required to run high performance dapps. SXT Chain essentially serves as a clearing house for data from across the multi-chain ecosystem, which is stored in a ZK-provable format that enables apps to quickly query and verify it. This allows smart contracts to operate more efficiently while maintaining the decentralization that is integral to web3 data.

Making Smart Contracts Work Smarter

The launch of the SXT Chain testnet, which supports EVM, Move, and ZKsync chains, is a major step towards realizing SxT’s goal of making onchain data as responsive and easy to work with as its centralized counterpart. The breakthrough that SxT provides with its eponymous chain is the ability for smart contracts to handle data at scale without costs or speeds becoming prohibitive.

“We’re thrilled to launch SXT Chain in testnet to empower developers to build more sophisticated applications onchain,” said SxT CEO Nate Holiday. “Both ZKsync and Chainlink have been pioneers in expanding the capabilities of blockchain technology, and we look forward to continuing to build the next generation of DeFi together with decentralized, ZK-proven database technology.”

Not only does the launch of the testnet move the needle for scalable, decentralized data, but it proves another demonstration of the versatility of ZKsync’s technology, which is now being widely adopted by onchain builders. In the case of SxT, this technology will be leveraged in the creation of a separate ZK rollup that will operate as the smart contract execution layer for SXT Chain.

SxT Invites Devs to Step Up

The real proof of what SXT Chain is capable of will come with the release of its mainnet  – but the hard work starts now for teams interested in using its tech. For devs interested in seeing what a ZK-powered data network is capable of, the testnet provides an opportunity to experiment with features such as verifiable data, connected to SxT’s Proof of SQL ZK coprocessor.

While the testnet is for devs who know how to work with data and are operating on the frontlines of web3 solutions incorporating verticals such as AI, many of the subsequent dapps will be consumer facing. The launch of the SXT Chain mainnet will bring provable data into sharp focus, supporting a host of applications that are more powerful than anything DeFi has previously witnessed.
